Stu Neyland

I started my career in design in 1968, after graduating from Ringling School of Art, as an artist at Hallmark Cards. After a stent in design management, and finally package design, I left in 1979 to pursue freelance design.

I took a job as a Senior Art Director at Kuhn and Wittenborn Ad Agency, also in Kansas City [ I met my Design Partner, Renee` Brobst there], for a couple of years, and then back to freelance

Renee` and I are now partners in Neyland Design, and she has been along for the ride in the development of N-FINITY DESIGNS. She has the indispensable computer skills that I do not, and she is incredibly creative.

In 1992 the warmer climes of Florida were calling; so my wife Suzie, and I moved to Knight Island, FL, and built our home there in ’94. It’s a bridgeless barrier island reachable only by boat or ferry service. Seven miles of beautiful unspoiled beach, great shelling, fishing, and great neighbors; and, of course, WARMTH.

Along the way, and mostly in KC, we were passionate collectors of antique toys, folk art, antique quilts, advertising, and various other memorabilia. We have a substantial collection of Kuba cloths that we began purchasing at the Tesuque Flea Market in Santa Fe. If you haven't been there; you should go.

For the last five years I have devoted almost all my creative time to the N-FINITY concept. It is a very intriguing exercise, and can be very difficult at times. It seems every design teaches me a new lesson in understanding the unique qualities of N-FINITY DESIGNS.

After a 19 -year stint in a mid-size advertising agency with local, national, global clients, I was lured by the sexiness of entrepreneurship and the challenges that come with it. I’ve had the privilege of working on brands such American Century (when it was conceived as Twentieth Century), Hallmark, Stuart Hall, Disney, Warner Brothers, Viacom, Kansas Speedway, MU Medical Center, Kansas City Zoo, Komen Race for the Cure, Clorox, Gillette, Nickelodeon, Walmart, Office Depot, Michaels and many more. I love BIG challenges for big and small companies.

Being an Airforce brat and moving every two years as a child gave me a great appreciation for other cultures and customs. I think this started the drive to approach every marketing or design challenge with a fresh set of eyes and an open mind. I’m known for constantly asking questions, digging for the best solutions and never taking “no” for an answer. If there is a will – there IS a way!

In my spare time I enjoy redesigning and renovating the home on a shoe-string budget, pretty much obsessed with HGTV. My husband and two daughters have the same “bug”, always a project in the works. We are known in the neighborhood as the “chicks with power tools!”
